Hello! I’m Žarko Tomić, software engineer currently based in Stuttgart, Germany and welcome to my virtual playground!

My Mission and Website Purpose
I believe that technology can be a powerful tool for creating a better world, and this belief drives my approach to software engineering. Rooted in a philosophy of continuous learning and incremental improvement, I see progress not just through massive disruptions, but through the cumulative effect of consistent, thoughtful advancements.
This platform serves as my digital canvas—a space to share experiences, projects, and insights that reflect this philosophy. By sharing my work, I aim to foster dialogue, invite feedback, and collaborate with tech enthusiasts across diverse software engineering domains. My goal is to create an interactive knowledge ecosystem where learning is a collaborative journey, and where each shared idea contributes to our collective growth and understanding of technology’s potential to improve our world.
Like the Apollo program’s lunar missions spurred innovations far beyond space travel, I envision the content of this website, especially projects presented, as a catalyst for broader technological advancements. While focused on software engineering, the insights and solutions developed here could spark unexpected breakthroughs across diverse fields.

Invitation
If you’re passionate about software engineering, innovation, and making a positive impact through technology, I invite you to explore (or even work on) my featured project and join the conversation. Together, we can transform ideas into meaningful solutions.
More about me
Born in Serbia (at the time Yugoslavia) in 1985, I discovered my passion for technology at an early age. Computers weren’t just machines to me, but fascinating tools of possibility. This early interest guided my educational path, leading me to graduate from a technical middle school in my hometown and later pursue a Computer Science degree (M.Sc.) at the University of Belgrade (ETF). During my academic path, I completed a 6 months internship at Bosch in 2009, gaining valuable early professional experience in Germany.
After graduating from my university, my journey continued in Germany. I joined ARRK Engineering in 2011, beginning my career as a developer. Over the years, I progressed through the ranks, eventually becoming a team lead by 2016. During this period, by 2019, I had the privilege of working on projects for world-class companies including BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Rolls-Royce, Hoerbiger, Stihl, and other leading automotive and industrial organizations, developing a comprehensive understanding of software engineering and team leadership.
In 2019, I transitioned to Vector Informatik, taking on a role as an ECU and SW architect in the automotive industry, where I continue to work today – maintain and expand my skills.
I’m happily married, have a delightful young daughter who brings joy and new perspectives to my life.
Karate has been my constant companion since I entered elementary school, evolving from competitive training to a personal practice that shapes my discipline and focus.
My passion extends to collecting methodologies and, more recently, systems of thought across different disciplines, an intellectual curiosity that enriches my technical work and fuels my ongoing learning journey.
